What is the DentalMonitoring adapter?
The adapter is designed to allow specific phone models to take clear scans. As shown in the figure below, the adapter fits between the phone support and the cheek retractor tube, increasing the distance between the camera and the teeth for clearer scans.
Which patients need an adapter?
New patients with specific phone models from Apple. The DentalMonitoring app automatically detects if a patient is scanning with a compatible device.
When to deliver adapters?
Ensure new patients download and activate the DM app before their appointment.
Once patients have activated, set up the app, and selected ScanBoxpro as their scanning device, the DM app detects if an adapter is needed and prompts the patient to connect an adapter, via an instant pop up message.
Please note that patients failing to scan with the required adapter will be reminded at every scan.
Keep in mind, it’s a good idea to have adapters readily available, and to inform your team that they may need to have an adapter ready if their patient’s phone requires it.
