DentalMonitoring Patient App Update:
We've released new version of the app for both iOS and Android (7.38.0). This version includes new ways for your patients to share their feedback.
First Scan Feedback – After your patient's very first scan, they’ll be able to rate your experience (1–5 stars) and let us know whether the scan was done at home or in the practice.
Recommend the App – Some months after the patient's first scan, we’ll ask how likely they are to recommend the app to a friend (0–10 scale).
These will help us to continuously improve the patient experience and support you in their treatment monitoring journey.
Additionally, we've fixed a luminosity bug on some Android devices that allows ScanAssist to be compatible with all Android users scanning with the ScanBox pro.

To improve clarity in notification handling, we have introduced a dedicated Silent notifications section in the patient card. Now, silent notifications will be separated from info notifications, making it easier to distinguish between the two. This change helps you quickly identify the priority of each notification and prevents unnecessary alerts from appearing in the wrong section.
We’ve introduced Redacted Mode, allowing you to automatically hide sensitive patient information when activated. Redacted mode is off by default but can be enabled in the My Account tab.
We have fixed an issue that caused inconsistent data in observations when both a notification and its corresponding “still present” notification were selected in the protocol, and the exclude teeth feature was applied to one of them. This inconsistency led to the “still present” notification to be triggered if it was picked up in the excluded teeth. This bug has been resolved to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Additionally, we have added ClearX and DPEARL to the list of supported brands.

To keep providing you and your practice with the best solutions adaptable to suit the evolution of aligner wear (regardless of the brand), we have added a new option to monitor you patients that are using a dual aligner solution. A new notification called “days after GO” has been added to the protocols. By activating this notification you can notify your patient to switch aligners between each set.
For example, if a patient needs to switch to the second aligner of the set 7 days after wearing the first one, you can set up a notification to be sent 7 days after Go to remind them.
Please note: this notification can only be configured at a protocol level, not at a patient level and it is not compatible with Adaptive scan interval.
You and your staff members are now prompted to provide their electronic signatures, affirming their acknowledgment and understanding of the IFU “Instructions for use” before accessing the system.

DentalMonitoring Patient App Update:
Our latest DM app version includes several UX improvements to enhance the overall experience for both you and your patients. With this update we have clarified and shortened the instructions on the bite step, making it easier for patients to understand and follow.
We have also reduced the sensitivity on mouth opening by improving the 3D model to mimic the patient’s real mouth opening. After a few seconds of detecting that the patient is struggling to achieve the expected slight mouth opening, the app becomes less strict to avoid preventing the patient from scanning.
Additionally, we have updated the UX to start the scan, to ease the scanning process. To further improve your patients’ experience, we have included a visual guide that shows patients the movement expected for each step, reducing confusion and increasing patient confidence.
Lastly:
we have added a new feature that explains to the patient how to trigger the assistance on side targets, ensuring optimal results
the pause menu is now accessible without removing the tube from the mouth, simply by clicking the cog button available throughout the scan process
on Android, technical optimizations will be done in order to support additional devices later on

DentalMonitoring Dashboard Update:
We have made some changes to the patient “history” tab:
You will now be able to see who performed each action in the patient history tab (i.e. who excluded teeth).
We have also simplified the wording within the history tab: the previous "Action performed by" wording has been replaced with "performed by <user>".
This update will provide you with a clear understanding of who performed each action.
Disabled users will no longer be displayed in the dropdown menu when assigning tasks. You can also filter tasks that are assigned to disabled users with the new Assigned to disabled users filter, you can then reassign the task to a new user via the Select an assignee field.
These changes will help save time, especially when it comes to tracking down specific details about patient treatment and history.
We have also made design improvements on the dashboard, with the goal to improve the visual clarity and user experience of the platform.
You will now receive the monthly invoice emails on the practice email instead of your own email.
We have also made technical improvements and fixed bugs to improve your overall experience.
Released 2023-11-21
DentalMonitoring Patient App Update:
We are excited to announce a new update for our app that aims to improve the management of malocclusions, particularly open bite and deep bite.
With this update, the ScanAssist technology will continuously track the patient's minimum aperture, using it as the "close" reference if they can't fully bite down. If they're opening more than this, they will be asked to bring their teeth together. Moreover, after 8 seconds of struggling with the expected mouth opening, the app will stop asking the patient to bite and will let them validate the targets.
We have also reduced the sensitivity on mouth opening by improving the 3D model to mimic the patient's real mouth opening. This will help patients when they are struggling to achieve the expected slight mouth opening.
Lastly, patients now have to redo the occlusal step if the app is closed before the scan review screen.
Released 2023-11-07
DentalMonitoring Dashboard Update:
We have implemented a few changes in your dashboard:
We have implemented a warning message that will be displayed whenever you attempt to leave a page after attaching, detaching or updating an item, to remind you to save your changes. This will help prevent loss of data due to accidental exits.
We have also made some changes to the history tab on the patient card. You can now easily see when excluded teeth have been added, changed or removed. This will enable guiding in your clinical decisions. See example below:
When assigning tasks, you will now see your name displayed next to the "me" value. For example, if a task is assigned to you, it will be labeled as "Assigned to me (Ed Northon)".
In addition, we have made it easier to copy a profile ID. Simply click on the ID and it will be copied to your clipboard, saving you time and effort.
Moving forward, each time a new invoice is available in your account's Invoice section, you will receive an email notifying you of its availability. This means you will no longer need to manually check your account for new invoices - we'll notify you as soon as they become available!
Additionally, we have standardized the displayed date format to YYYY-MM-DD.
Finally, we have made several technical improvements to the dashboard, targeting bugs and enhancing the overall performance. We hope these updates will improve your experience and make your workflow smoother.

3. To avoid inconsistencies in the scan report, the patient instruction “positive notification for braces” will not be sent if the patient has any other messages triggered by the scan (ex. oral hygiene).
4. We have made some changes to improve your patient’s experience with DentalMonitoring:
To keep your patients updated with their treatment, we have added a new type of message that is automatically sent to your patients when there are no patient instructions triggered, meaning they will receive a report after every scan.
To maintain consistency in the communications sent to your patients, we will not be sending any scan report when the patient gets a GO with their last aligner (in this situation, only patient instructions set up with the "aligners remaining = 0" observation will be sent).

Compliance metrics update: every scan taken by a patient within 48 hours from the due date will not be considered late anymore. This might induce a change in the treatment analytics provided in each patient's DentalMonitoring App (however this change would be positive, as more patients will be considered "on time").
Angulation warning in the scan review: if your patient did not turn their head enough while taking the side-to-side views during their scan, they will now have an additional red warning displayed, encouraging them to verify their back teeth are fully visible.
Colors in go/no-go/go-back badges change. Badges in the messages section of the app will change accordingly:
Go badge will stay green
No-go badge will switch to orange
Go-back badges become red
Regulatory documents in the app will now display the latest version of the signed documents only.

To request an additional scan, go to New Action > Ask patient for an additional Scan
You can reset the patient’s scan schedule from the patient card, so that all future scans will be calculated from the present date. Your patient will be asked for a new scan immediately.

Schedule patient messages based on treatment time frame:
Access this feature by going to Protocols > (Your protocol of choice) > Timeframe > Days after start of monitoring > Reminder.

Use this feature to schedule patient appointments on certain dates (i.e. IPR, whitening, attachments) or simply to send reminders or encouragements.
